Can Sex With A Torn Condom Result In Pregnancy?

Hi, last night i had protected sex with a prostitute, but when I ejaculated and pulled out I realized the condom was broken and my full head was exposed, I don t know for how much time it was like that but I can assure it was less than 5 minutes, since when I changed positions everything was fine. I m worried about the possible risks, help!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

A broken condom does not offer protection against pregnancy or sexually transmitted infections. Because of being sexually active with a prostitute, there is a high risk of sexually transmitted infections.

I would recommend you to have prophylactic azithromycin 2 g single oral dose to protect against chlamydia and gonorrhea and also do tests for HIV, Hep B, siphylis, etc. You may need to repeat these tests in a few weeks.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
