Can Sinus Pressure In The Head Be Relieved Without Medication?

I have been told I have a sinus infection. I m on a antibiotic now for 5 days and the antibiotic seems to not be working and it makes me feel sick to my stomach and light headed. Is there anything I can do to relieve the sinus pressure in my head without taking this medication any longer? My Dr. is on vacation.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may be suffering from acute sinusitis infection need to use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. Avoid cool drinks and freeze water, avoid smoking and alcoholism. Use decongestant sprays or medication to relieve congestion. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
