Can Smoking Be A Medical Secondary Diagnosis?

Yes, please. A former smoker who quit developed a heart condition. His primary diagnosis is CAD, secondary diagnosis smoking.While I realize smoking can be cause of heart condition or contributory factor I have never actually heard of one given a diagnosis of smoking, have you?

hi dear,
heart condition is due to excessive smoking so smoking is secondary diagnosis.
But actually smoking is not diagnosis but actually nicotine addiction is correct diagnosis.
always a major condition which affects you is primary diagnosis and precipitating or causing factor is secondary diagnosis.
