Smoking pot has always made my heart beat faster...The last time I smoked pot (May 2004) My heartrate raced up to 160 beats a minute and would not slow down until about four hours later, when the drug wore off. Then I had chest pains. This scared me.Needless to say I decided never again to smoke pot. Later I found out on the internet that there is a link between smoking pot and heart attacks... have you ever heard of this?
i am not a doctor but i have been around pot all through middle school and high school and i smoked alot all day everyday but have decided to become a police officer and not do what my friends are still doing but anyway in school i had a friend that smoked atleast a quarter ounce a day and his heart is flipped backwards and on the wrong side of his chest and he isnt supposed to do alot of things but he still smokes in my openion no it cant cause a heart attack more less a panic attack but thats because of the enviroment you were in when you smoked if you try it again just smoke with one other person and go walk around outside on a nice day or do somthing relaxing until you get use to it. but remember its illegal in alot of states so dont drive or carry any on you smoke IN YOUR HOUSE then chill outside
I've had similiar issues. What is happening is you are having a freak out. You shocked your system with too much THC and too fast and if you're a new user, your body probably wasn't used to it. Anxiety started to build in your system causing your heart to beat faster. The act of your heart beating faster actually built even more anxiety, so it becomes a snowball effect with you being unable to calm yourself down.
I've had two of these episodes myself. If you start to freak out like this, the best thing you can do is eat something bready like a tortilla. I also find that chewing on ice helps with this a lot. But you basically need to start eating something not only to bring your system back down but the act of methodically eating food tends to distract you and calm you down a bit.
As for pot causing a heart attack, it stands to reason that if you have too many of these episodes you will do permanent damage to your heart.
