Can Some One Explain What Herpes Zoaster Is ?

Hi.. I am doing a profect on herpes zoster infection of the skin.. can some one give me information on it. I am not able to understand what is given in the google search. Please explain in simple terms so that I can understand... Thanks for the help

Hi.. Herpes zoaster is a type of viral infection. It is caused by a group of virus that belong to the herpes group of virus. These virus is a DNA virus. They are similar to the one that cause chicken pox. (I hope you know what chicken pox is). The infection can cause affect the skin, nerves and the brain.

herpes zoster is a viral infection which will affect your nervees and you will have severe pain and fever. It will have to be treated with proper antivirals in severe cases.

On the skin it causes vesicular lesions which occurs in clusters. Vesicular are small, fluid filled lesions.

This infection after infecting the skin can get infect the nerve, where it can get deposited and can cause recurrent infection of the skin after a long period of time. This is known as latent infection in the nerves.

The treatment is by a group of antiviral medications. The antivirals that are know as acyclovir is used. They come both as oral tablets and creams that can be applied over the lesions.

It spreads through contact. So if some one has infection do not touch them as you can get your self infected.
