Can Someone Die From Diabetes If Your Not Treated ?

My dad has told me he has diabetes and he can t pay for insurance so he s just ignoring the fact that he has it. He says that something could happen soon but I doubt that diabetes in that serious. I know several people with it and all they do it prick their finger .. that s about it. Can someone tell me an honest answer if this goes untreated. If you need to know... He s 48. Thankyou, Josh

yes if diabetes is not treated properly the person may die of as a result of very high blood sugar causing damage to brain or as a result of secondary infection and multiple organ dysfunction due to increased levels of blood sugar
