Can Spider Bite Cause Tingling In Fingers?

I felt a sudden, sharp pain on back of hand by knuckles, like a sting or an insect bite. I immediately sprayed Benedryl spray on it, then held my hand on an ice pack -- both within a minute and a half. I do not know if it was a wasp or spider because I didn t see or hear any flying insects, though I know I just walked through spiderwebs in a barn. I did just slam into. Now, an hour later, i still feel tingling in fingertips and down my two fingers. Do I wait it out to see if it improves, or should I go to an after-hours clinic???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thank you for sharing your query on Healthcaremagic, I have carefully worked through your case and you have a local allergic reaction due to the toxins inoculated, most of the spider or bugs bites are harmless and treatmen is focused to relieve the symptoms, tingling is a common symptom, hopefully you acted fast and prevented swelling or pain. I suggest to you take some antihistamines 2-3 times a day x 3 days, drink enough fluids to accelerate the elimination process, vitamins supplements and keep the area clean, do not scratch to avoid the skin break getting further complications. Just allow to your body enough time to withdraw the toxins.
Please kindly rate if my advise has been helpful
Wishing you a good health
