Can Spinal Steroid Injection Cause Rise In Cholesterol?

I just had my 3rd spinal steroid injection for a swollen disc and tear. After the 2nd injection I went to my GP for yearly exam and was told my bad cholestraol was 700, very rare for me! I am 53 5'6" 128 lbs. I have HPB which is controlled. Could the injections cause this elevation in my cholestoral? How long should I wait to have my blood retested. I am also experiencing excessive sweating.Thank You Marianne

Hello Marianne

The steroid injections, while they can elevated serum glucose levels, would not elevate the LDL levels.

I would retest your cholesterol levels in another month to see if the LDL is still elevated to that degree
