Can Splitting Pantoprazole Tablet Cause Any Side Effect?

Hello, My Mother is taking pantoprazole tablet. She has been breaking it in half and I just read that you should not break it. She has been been getting sick after taking it in the morning. She has trouble swallowing even though this is not a big tablet. What can she do?

it is an antacid should not break it in half take bland dieat fresh fruits and vegetable avoid spicy and oily food
