In normal
pregnancy, spotting does not occur.
If you are pregnant and still the spotting has taken place, it is an event of concern which needs immediate reporting to your obstetrician.
Pregnancy test on urine gives reliable results only after 8-10 days after missing a period. If
beta hCG test is done it is specific and sensitive and gives reliable results after 2-3 days of missed period.
If urine pregnancy test is not conclusive,
ultrasonography may be done for diagnosing the pregnancy after 8-10 days of missed period.
Keeping these principles in mind, you may get the pregnancy detection done.
If you are pregnant, ultrasonography also can reveal what is the status of pregnancy - whether it is aborting or not, and the baby is safe or at risk. Accordingly further management can be planned.
If you are not pregnant, your doctor may prescribe you pills of Oestrogen and/or
progesterone which after few days will induce the withdrawal bleeding to you.
