Can Spotting With Some Sharp Cramps Can Be Considered As Symptoms Of Pregnancy?

I have been on birth control for 4 months this last month I skipped 5 pills not in a row but scattered through the month. Now today I was supposed to start and have been spotting for 3 days now. I am having some sharp cramps with it as well. Am I pregnant or is this the start of my period?

Do a urine pregnancy test which if negative then there is nothing to worry and believe this abnormal bleeding is due to missed pills.
