Can Sprains On Ankle Occur Without Swelling?

I am a 17 yr old female who wants to know if its possible to have a sprained ankle without swelling. I have always had problems with my ankles since i was a kid. Usually its my left but this one is my right. I think it happened when my my ankle bent outward at least 3 times when I was walking on uneven ground and stepping on rocks. its only the outside of my right ankle that hurts. I can move my foot but it just hurts when I do.
