Can Stent Insertion Cause 170 Heart Rate?
have 93 year old female has two stents placed about 10 days ago today heart rate is 170 and is taking Diltiazem CD 120mg daily. Is this a reaction to the stent insertions? I am a geriatric pharmacotherapist and saw the patient last Thursday. Your comments would be appreciated.

I have gone through your query and being your physician i completely understand your health concerns.
for how long u are suffering from it? any other associated problem? like diabetes or hypertension?
In my opinion , after coronary stenting the heart rate is still greater than the normal,, it should not be greater than 100. you need to consult your CARDIOLOGIST so that appropriate change in medications can be done in time
meanwhile stay calm and continue with ur medications..
