Can Stomach Pain And Blood Clots In Stools Post Gall Bladder Removal, Be Treated?

I had my gallbladder removed in early October and ever since I seem to have not healed,I still have constant pain and blood clots in my stool every day. Since the surgery I have also been diagnosed with chronic gastritis and have clean ulcers in my stomach. My intestines always feel like they are on fire and make throbbing pain around the area where gallbladder was... Could I have obtained an infection during surgery or is it maybe a more serious issue

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

It is simply a gastric issue, and an infection would present in a completely different manner. The stress of surgery and probably stress in your life along with your diet could be the cause, I recommend plenty of fluids, avouf acidic food, avoid spicy/fatty/fried and oily food. Use an antacid like omeprazole 15 minutes before each meal. For the gastritis, it is important to diagnose which type of gastritis it is in order to understand whether antibiotic coverage will be required or not, speak to your doctor about the same.

Best wishes.
