Can Stress Cause Rough/hoarse Voice?

I have a rough voice and years ago I could sing but now my voice makes it very hard to do that. I have been to E N T specialist but they say there is nothing wrong. I had something up on the computer about this but now I can"t find it and a lot people were saying that it was stress, but I am already on stress tablets. So I don"t know if you know anything about this.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
If an ENT specialist has seen your vocal cords with either a mirror or a endosocpe and opined that it functions as normal, Then you might be having what is known as muscle tension dysphonia, which means you are using your neck muscles and vocal cords too much ( unknowingly of course) Consult a laryngologist( sub speciality in ent) They might do you a video stroboscopy and voice analysis. Many times speech therapy will help you recover
