Can Stress Cause Severe Hair Loss?

I recently went through a lot of stress, loosing a very close friend and sister in law. We were friends since 6th grade. I suddenly loss all of my hair around the sides and back. complete baldness. I had a full set of hair on christmas, she died January 18th. My hair started coming out in the comb every morning getting thin then the baldness happened. I haven t started any new medications. What should I do?

Your hair loss is obviously related to stress. Stress can be managed either by a psychologist or a psychiatrist. However, it is always wise to go to the dermatologist.
