Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm 35yrs old and 29 weeks pregnant and i'm a full time Dental student. My sugar level is under control most of the time but it goes up when i'm in the clinic working on patients. Why does it only happen during that time, even though my diet plan is same everyday? Is it because of stress or some other reason. I would like to know how to control it?
It has been seen in number of diabetic patients that sugar level usually increases in stress. In stress, level of corticosteroid hormones increase and that could be the reason of increase sugar level in your case. You can try some relaxation exercise or antidepressant that would help. Better to consult a psychiatrist for proper management plan. In case, you need further help, you can ask.
Thanks
