Can Sudden Decrease In Platelet Count Be Indicative Of A Recurring Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)?

Hello have been in remission with AMLfor 5 years now everything has been great went in for my yearly blood test and my platelets went down a lot. said to come back in six months instead of a yearfor blood test. my question is could this be a sign that my AML is coming back?

not necessarily. if your platelet count is at a dangerously low level, then you need to be investigated, just marginal reduction in count is not indicative of relapse.
