Can Surmontil And Effexor Serve To Treat Severe Depression?

Hi .. my husband is recovering from severe depression but is suffering short term memory loss. He is taking olanzipine, surmontil and effexor and I'm wondering whether these medications can cause his memory problems or whether it's the start of alzheimers. What do you think?

HI
Thanks for using healthcare magic

Effexor contains venlafaxine and surmontil contains trimipramine. Both of these drugs are antidepressant and help in improving memory or concentration loss due to depression. Olanzapine is antipsychotic and that would give him sound sleep. These drugs do not lead to memory impairment. May be due to age, he is facing early sign of dementia. Rest, you can discuss with your doctor. In case, you need my help, you can ask.

Thanks
