Can Suspected Cancerous Nodules On Lungs Be Treated?

My mom is on the home stretch of concluding the many tests she had to go through for lung nodules, with her PET scan being done this week. We see the oncologist next week, and today they called to tell us the lung biopsy is inconclusive and they need to do it again. This is the only test that my mother feared would come back inconclusive and dreads having to go through it again. Since the dr. appointment is only a week away, could we just wait and see what type of diagnosis he gives. This has been very stressful on all of us. The oncologist says the nodules are very small and if anything are treatable. Should we worry.

Hi
If your PET CT scan shows increased metabolic activity in the lung nodules then it may indicate cancer.
But to rule out malignacy u need to do biopsy test.
If first biopsy is inconclusive then re biopsy is suggested either CT scan guided or bronchoscopically.
