Can Sweats And Chills Be Due To Weaning Off Narcotics After Undergoing Lumbar Fusion Surgery?

I recently had a lumbar fusion surgery, and am on a lot of narcotics. I notice that between doses, I start having withdrawal symptoms. is this normal, and how can I avoid them? it's very uncomfortable, and I don't want to take more pills than I'm prescribed, simply to keep the sweats and chills and shakes at bay.
