Can Swelling In The Labia Have An Effect On UTI?

Hello I m 27wks pregnant. I have recently been diagnosed with a Uti ( burning while urinating, etc). I have taken the antibiotics ( Cexphalin 500mg) for 3 days. Yesterday I noticed my right inner labia was swollen. It s painful to the touch and hurts when rubbed up against anything. Could my swollen labia make my Uti burn sensation worse? How do I get rid of this swollen inner labia?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Having swollen labia minora might be due to some infection and might give some irritation in near by urethral opening producing your urinary symptoms more pronounced.
Apply antibiotic cream locally after proper cleainng the part.
Continue with antibiotic medicine for few days more.
Ok and take care.
