Can Symptoms Of Bronchospasm Re-occur Despite Quitting Smoking?

I just experienced my first bronchospasm episode while under general anesthesia while getting dental implants. Up until that morning I had smoked approx. a pack a day for 26 years. Now that I have quit smoking (it s been 3 days so far), what are the chances that I will have more bronchospasm occurences?

Hello,

You might experience bronchospasm when exposed to smoke and dust.

You can take bronchodilators like salbutamol for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
