Can Taking Benefiber Fiber Supplement Raise Blood Pressure?

I suffer from painful IBS. I ve read that increasing fiber will help regulate my bowels. I tried Heather s Tummy stuff, which is pure acacia, and it worked GREAT... but it raised my blood pressure in the second week and I had to stop. Will Benefiber raise my blood pressure? Benefiber is mostly wheat dextrin.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Usual instances do not show benefiber supplement to raise blood pressure, but any individual may show up with the same. Apart from the fiber, associated intake of salt amount, stress and other factors have to be considered in evaluation before stamping the fiber supplement causing blood pressure rise.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
