Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Gliptins (Linagliptin) is used for treating type 2 diabetes in patients who cannot control blood sugar levels by diet and exercise alone. Fasting blood sugar of 8.4 mmol/L and HbA1c of 7% says that you diabetes is not under effective control. Hence, doctor has recommended change of drug to Komboglyze . This medication also contains a Glyptin called Saxagliptin with combination of Metformin. Both of these hypoglycemic drug combination would work better in controlling the blood glucose levels. You need a regular follow-up monitoring of glucose to see how this drug is working for you. Remember, diabetes cannot be controlled by drugs alone.
