Can Taking Levothyroxine Be Safe For Hypothyroidism?

I work night shifts three days a week then go back to a day shift life. I have hypothyroidism and take levothyroxin but have noticed that if I take it when I wake up it pushes my sleep cycle around so that my body is on night shift when it needs to be on day shift. Should I change when I take it or what else could I do besides changing my work?

Welcome to Health care magic. Thank you for posting your question.
I can understand your concern.

Yes LEVOTHYROXINE is a very safe drug for hypothyroidism. It is best taken in early morning. May be the dose of the drug has to be modified , that is why you are facing difficulties in the night shifts.

I would suggest you to do a serum TSH level and either get back to us or visit your doctor to titrate the dose accordingly.

Don't worry .

Post any other question. We will be happy to help.
Have a nice day. Regards.
