Can Taking Tizanidine Be Safe As A Muscle Relaxant?

I am recorving from two failed spinal fusions<having trouble with pain pills .my dr. took me off all muscle relaxors & put me on TIZANIDINE he seems hopefull this will help? Muscles in my low back are hard as a rock and have beeen for along time. thus I am not recorving at all!
