Can Taking Anti Inflammatory Pill Lead To Sore Lips And Dry Mouth?

I have sore lips and dry mouth feeling. I am Canadian living in mid west where it is dry and cold. For the past few weeks, I have been in coda rica where it is very hot and humid. I think that I have a mild case of sunburn or sun poisoning on lips, resulting in a dry mouth feeling that is uncomfortable. I am gargling salt water and cleaning teeth often and increasing my water intake in case I also have a mild case of dehydration. Do you have any comments or advice. I also took one anti inflamatory pill to prevent a gout attack when I stubbed my toes. The latter drug may have accentuated the dry or raw mouth feeling.

Hi dear. Thanks for writing on HCM.
According to me the inflammatory pill would have exacerbated your symptoms.I were to hold the pill for a while till these symptoms subside.Apply vaseline twice to trice/day or lip balm to avoid further dryness.I would suggest to apply local anesthetic cream (Mucopain gel) 2-3 times daily for 2-3 days.Post which you may continue the medication.Drink plenty of oral fluids.Hope this answers your query.
