Can Taking Antidepressants Cause Weight Gain And Itchiness In Body?

I already sent this once before but received no response. I have been on an antidepressant for about 8 months now. I have been steadily gaining weight w no change in diet/exercise and also becoming very itchy. I realize that these are both potential side effects. If I eventually taper off the meds, will the weight go away as well as the itching?
