Can Taking Contraceptive Pill Alter The Menstrual Cycle?

Hello, I am a girl. I had started the contraceptive pill and had been on it for 2 days (taken it twice, once for two days). I had to stop the pill(reason not because of health but because i had lost my pills) This all happened after my latest period. Could this change my period date as it was meant to be 3 days ago. thanks
