Can Taking Duvadilan After Being Diagnosed With Placenta Previa Lead To Bleeding?
i was diagnosed having placenta previa in my 16th week, before it was diagnosed, my former ob advised me to take duvadilan everytime there s a spotting, but my recent ob advised me to stop taking it even though i m still bleeding, she said that it shouldn t be taken since i have a placenta previa. i don t know who to follow right now, Should i really needs to stop taking it?

Taking Duvadilan decreases the uterine contractions and thus helps in preventing the uterine bleeding in case of placenta praevia. This is not likely to aggravate the bleeding.

Duvadilan usually acts as smooth muscle relaxant and vasodilator.
Generally it is not having role in placenta previa.
So, better to stop the drug as advised by your doctor.
Your former gynecologist might have thought it as threatened abortion and prescribed that tablet.
Now better to be careful, take strict bed rest, restrict physical activity.
Avoid journey, intercourse, lifting weights etc.
Let your family members aware of your condition.
If bleeding appears better to consult gynecologist immediately.
