Can The Haloperidol Medication Affect Atrial Fibrillation?
My mother has AF and takes Xarelto 15 mg the doctor recently prescribed haloperdol 0.5 because she has dementia alzheimer s and is also taking Lorozepan 2 mg at night and 1 mg at noon. Can Haloperdol affect her AF? Haloperdol was prescribed because she has been aggressive. YYYY@YYYY
Non of the drug could affect the AF it is the separate cardiac condition and it has to be confirmed even may not have any obvious clinical symptoms that can suggest it is the A-fib developed, if something creating the doubt then the only option is EKG and without this nothing can be said about A-fib, whether it is due to drug of not and whether it is A-Fib or not.
Else drug has nothing to do with A-fib.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
