By your history and description, possibility of worsening of
asthma (exacerbation) is more in your case.
Most likely cause for this is
lung infection. You are also producing a lot of mucus with black streaks (likely blood). All these favour lung infection (
pneumonia) more.
So better to
consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. Chest
x ray 3. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Chest x ray is needed to rule pneumonia.
PFT will tell you about severity of the disease and treatment of asthma is based on severity only.
You may need antibiotics, additional inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS).
