Can The Shin Gash Be Bandaged To Play Football?

hi, i have a gash in my shin the size of a stretched out quarter that i got on a rock. i got it 2 weeks ago and it's not fully closed yet, but it looks great. it doesn't hurt. can i just put a couple bandages on it and wrap it with ace bandages and still play football?
