Can The Symptoms Of Painful Intercourse, Difficult Bowels, Tiredness And Lethargy Relate To Ovarian Cyst Or IBS ?

I had a hysterectomy 19 years ago aged 27, my ovaries were left. Having recently been involved in a car accident a CT scan showed I had a substantial ovarian cyst. I am due to go for a scan next week. Two years ago I visited my doctor with several symptom consistent with ovarian cysts, tiredness, painful intercourse, difficult bowel movements weigh gain and lethargy, but was told as I had had a hysterectomy this was unlikely, was sent for a barium enema which showed nothing, and was advised by GP that it was probably a touch of IBS, my weight gain was down to my diet, as was my bloated feeling and tiredness. My question is, as I ve not had a period now for over 19 years, could it be something more sinister, as my GP at the time persuaded me there was absolutely no chance of my having an ovarian cysts due to the hysterectomy, and I m really quite worried about what might be found next week.

Hi, welcome to Health care magic forum.
It appears that you have some lump, in the pelvis, that might be soft, hence doubted to be the ovarian cyst.
Even after hysterectomy the ovaries are intact, in total hysterectomy only ovarian cyst is not possible.
Other than that the possibility of a large lump is not possible with other structures.
Any how nothing is there to worry, whether it is ovarian cyst, or some thing else, the plan of treatment will be in the same process.
So don't worry about any thing, and get prepared for every thing.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery.Thank you.
