Can The Yeast Infection Be From The Sex?

I need an OBGYN ... I am 64 years old and sexually active ... I have a yeast infection that keeps returning ... my provider says it s from an UTI med I was taking. I am confused because every time my partner (male) and I have sex it returns and again I am placing the cream. Can it be from sex?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Yeast infection in vagina( vaginal candidiasis) is a condition that occurs recurrently in diabetic patients, immunocompromised patients or patients on steroids.
It gets aggravated by intercourse.
I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated including vaginal swab examination done to confirm the type of candidiasis and treated accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health.
