Can Thigh Muscles And Nerves Grow And Regenerate?

had motorcycle mva when I was 15 im now 58. after the surgeries to remove thigh muscle and to insert a Richardson pressure plate on femur. I had no sensation of touch for many years. Now I have all of the sensation of touch back again! Moreover I can feel the muscle growing, I now have a muscle there again although not very symetrical or complete functionality.How has my tactile sensation returned. I thought that nerves don`t regenerate. I`m aware that muscle can grow but a nerve?
