Can Thyroid Problem Result In An Elevated FSH Level?
Hi, I am female, 42 years old, my FSH level is very high, 2 times of the highest normal range value, I have hypothyroid, taking med, the value is 0.88, the OB doctor said the thyroid problem is one reason to cause it. if the TSH level is in the median level, could it help to restore the FSH again? thanks!
Hello and thank you for asking! I can understand your concern but would like to inform you that, thyroid is not the cause of high FSH level. If it is over 20, is suggestive for ovarian failure (menopause). So, the normalization of TSH will not affect FSH level. best wishes, Dr.Mirjeta
