Can Thyroidectomy Be Concern Arthritis?

I had a partial thyroidectomy last week because of a goiter. I have osteoarthritis in the neck and I believe I have pinched nerves in the back of my neck. I will be going to see an orthopedic doctor next week, but wanted to know if the surgery will agitate the arthritis. Sitting for long periods of time cause my neck to lock up and I can t move it.

Hello,

You can go for sure to surgery because it is not related to neck arthritis.

Thyroid surgery has no effect on the neck.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mirjeta Guni,
Endocrinologist
