Can Tongue Piercing Cause Tonsillitis?

So about a month ago I got my tongue pierced. There was no infections, it healed within 10 days and I was fine to eat. I haven t had a problem with it. Recently, I have gotten tonsilitis and it s so bad. (I got it on Saturday morning). It s so bad and painful. My mum is taking me to the doctor tonight so I can be put on antibiotic. I just don t understand how I got tonsilitis, I know it s a bacteria infection, but could it be from my tongue piercing? Should I take it out? I m so scared! I get tonsilitis normally every year and about 2-3 times a year. I feel like I need to get them removed....

hello

Since your wound site is healthy and has healed ,, it is not likely that your tonsillitis is due to your piercing and you dont have to remove it. Please meet your doctor , he will start you on a course of antibiotics , which will cure your infection.
Take care!
