Can Tonsil Stones Cause Swollen Lymph Nodes In Neck?

i went to the ent two months ago because my throat was feeling funny, not hurting just feeling funny, my neck looked swollen, and it was aching too. i had health insurance then, now i dont, they told me i had tonsil stones. I do have bad allergies and my nose runs constantly, my eyes itch alot too. Well anyways they put me on antibiotics and some steroids and sent me on my way, by the way there is a bb sized pink thing on my tonsil on the right side and they said it was nothing, and i have tiny tonsils and i have never until this year had anything wrong with my tonsils or anything like that but i have always had sinus trouble, well now the pink thing on my tonsil is still there, my ear itches alot and now i have 3 pea sized nodes popped out on the right side of my neck, painless nodes, now i am scared. my throat dont ever really hurt yet it does feel kinda like a muscle ache but not sore, i dont cough, i dont run a fever, and it dont make me tired at all, just scared as i have very bad anxiety anyways but what i am asking is can tonsil stones cause all of this?? They said that they saw nothing to them that made my neck swollen that it was all in my head, and i do have a cavity now on the same side as the lymph nodes are swollen, do you think that is why they are swollen i have no insurance anymore and i am scared, oh and they said the reason my neck was hurting is because the tendon in my neck was inflamed because of the tonsil stones.

Hi,

As per your complaint, it seems that a sore throat along with yellow solidified particles that come out of throat while clearing throat or spitting is pointing towards Tonsil stones or tonsilloliths that are formed due to calcification of food particles or debris over the tonsil crypts.

It is a potent cause for infection and inflammation of tonsils and bad breath. A sore throat that is recurring is most probably due to tonsil stones.

I would suggest you remove the tonsil stones using a q-tip and in order to reduce its formation, you should do warm saline gargles. Gargle with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water. Always gargle with water after meals. Limit the intake of dairy products. In case if they are not being removed, you should consult an ENT Physician and get evaluated and they can remove it manually using fine tweezers.

In case if still, the problem does not resolve then the last resort is to get the tonsils removed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
