Can Tonsillectomy Cause Any Problem To Vocal Cord?

hi, i m 15 years old & i ve been singing my whole life. i haven t been to any doctor because i m scared of what they will tell me. so, i recently feel like my tonsils are being bothered. i looked up on the computer & read something about tonsils and how they can be inflated (which i think i have), or have tonsilitis, or can be infected with a tonsil stone (which i doubt i have)... if my tonsils are removed, in your opinion, will my voice be any different?

Hello,

Tonsillectomy generally does not cause any vocal cord problems. Nothing much to worry and you can safely undergo tonsillectomy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
