Can Tonsillectomy Cause Bleeding And Coughing?

I am 32 year old white female. I recently had a tonsillectomy. About two weeks after my surgery, I woke up bleeding and had to have to have emergency surgery to stop the bleeding. I got better but now I am coughing constantly, feel like something is stuck in my throat, and hacking up thick green mucus. What is wrong with me?

hello, thanks for your query, post tonsillectomy bleeding after 2 weeks could be due to infection. during stoppage of bleeding they might have used intubation for general anesthesia.this is common that after post tube removal , u will feel foreign body sensation, cough and mucus secretion. if it's persistent plz inform ur surgeon. have regular course of antibiotics, regular gargling with hydrogen peroxide.all the best. take care.
