Can Tonsils Cause Difficulty In Singing?

Hi, I am a singer 34 years old..I have had tonsils since childhood and used to get sick in childhood atleast once in a year due to the increment of tonsils and anitbiotics used to cure it. Now I dont get sick any more and dont get sore throat either but my singing is affected a lot. I cant sing in higher nodes at all. I can only sing in low nodes which is not helpful. Please advice , does tonsil has something to do in it. Mustafa

hello, thanks for your query, of course, tonsillar hypertrophy, can affect singing, can cause snoring, can cause obstructive sleep apnea. this two indirectly(mouth breathing causes pharyngitis then laryngitis) can effect vocal cards causing hoarseness of voice. consult ent surgeon for evaluation. hope i have answered your query. all the best. take care.
