Can Traumatic Brain Injury Lead To Sleeplessness?

My boyfriend had a traumatic brain injury 12 years ago which caused him to have to learn how to walk and talk again. On Sunday he was hit on the top of the head with a 4 inch round log from 50 ft above. (1 inch from his traumatic brain injury incision line.) He was knocked to the ground. It started bleeding a lot. Now he is just in a lot of pain, He is having a hard time staying awake at night but I don't know if that's his head or he's tired. He seems okay otherwise and is back to work. He remembers everything and gets lightheaded a few times during the day.
