Can Tumors In Uterus Be Treated With Medications?

I want to consult for my mom. She is 53 years old. During periods she use to face high blood flow and irregular periods also. In ultrasound dr. has observed a tumor in her uterus. Its diameter is around 1-1.5cm. Some people are telling that it can be cured by medicine.I want to know is it possible to remove it by medicine. Kindly guide me.
