Can Undergoing Sinus Surgery Result In Pain Between Eyes And Nose?

My fiancé had sinus surgery three months ago to remove polyps and put in stents. Post-surgery the doctor discovered a yeast infection in his sinuses, after treating that he began having severe pain in the area between his eyes and bridge of his nose. The stents were removed. He was then diagnosed as having a mold condition in his sinuses. He has been using the nasal sprays, using the neti-pot, taken several rounds of antibiotics then antifungal medications. He currently is still experiencing a burning sensation, a pressure, off and on stabbing pain in the same area. He has been telling me that he hears as if someone is wrinkling up tinfoil between his eyes - sometimes with pain and sometimes relieves the pressure. He has been to three doctors and none have been able to explain the noises or what is going on. Can you help?

Hello dear,
After going through your history, I believe you have some genuine concern and I will try to help you out of this situation.

From the symptoms like pressure, stabbing pain, burning sensation with relieve of pressure, I strongly suspect there is a FRONTAL SINUSITIS which did not clears up with medication. Your fiance had polyps, that points out that he has allergy to different environmental and dietary factors. In fact the treatment in case like this starts after the surgery.

In my clinic, in patient like him I advise for a repeat CT scan of PNS ( Para nasal sinuses) which will definitely reveal the cause. Then reviewing the severity of the situation, I may go for surgery to drain the frontal sinus or keep him on medication ALONG WITH ALLERGY TESTING AND VACCINATION. Allergy test and vaccination is a must from him if he undergo revision surgery.

I hope I could solve your query. Please do not hesitate to clarify more doubts for the same situation.

Thank you for the way you are in my life.
