Can Unprotected Sex Using An Expired Implanon NXT Cause Any Side Effects?
Hello, 3 years ago in March I got an a Implanon NXT inserted and I only realized today that it s been expired for a month and me and my partner recently had unprotected sex. I ve looked online everywhere but I can t find anything about what the effects are when you have unprotected sex on an expired Implanon. Can you help me?

Implanon may have a little effect post expiration but anyhow it cannot offer considerable protection. Hence, it is advisable to take up a pregnancy test if periods are missed more than 10 days. Switch to another method of contraception until the implant is removed.
