Can Untreated Pneumonia Cause Swollen, Blistering Hands And Mouth With Fever?

my grandson has for the 4th time developed swollen blistering hands, fever and blisters inside and outside of his mouth. His hands are terribly swollen and painful. cannot eat or sleep. this lasts for 7 days. Drs. are stumped. Could untreated pneumonia have caused this? We are just grasping at straws here. He is 5 yrs. old.
