Can Use Of Crystal Meth Before A Surgery Cause Any Side Effects?f
i am 48, 5.9, 175. i did a couple of hits of crystal meth today. have not done so in 4 yrs but was with someone and did it. i am a very healthy hiv positive man. i have surgery tuesday at 7 am. rotator cuff surgery. i don't want to tell the doc but am a little concerned about anastesia. thoughts.
welll..... yes, certainly BUT it gets out of the system quite fast. It won't be there 12 hrs later. You'd know what the withdrawal feels like for you. There could be some issues if the withdrawal was terrible and you woke up from anaesthesia in the middle of withdrawal. There could be problems if you had a heart attack while taking crystal meth. While silent heart attacks occur, they are neither that common in a drug with under a 1 in a thousand fatality rate per year nor likely as common as NON-SILENT really obvious heart attacks. So, if you had chest pain or arm pain or difficulty breathing or collapse or stroke while taking crystal meth, then the surgery would be very risky. Otherwise, not so much. Furthermore, they are likely to take a blood pressure and pulse prior to the surgery and that is a screen for ongoing effects of the drug. Frankly, the HIV medications are much more of a concern! they have huge drug interactions.
